Error 404: Boys Not Found...

At a glance, there is nothing especially remarkable about their lives.

They work jobs, run errands, care for their obligations, and complain about things that don't matter - just like any normal group of guys would. From the outside, Akira, Ken, Joe, and Chris are just four regular men trying to get by.

Spend more than a few minutes around them, however, and the errors begin to show.

On one side of town is the apartment shared by Ken and Akira. Ken is diligent, practical, and somehow the more responsible of the two despite being younger and having a short temper. Akira is seven years older, unemployed, overweight, and full of ideas guaranteed to cost money Ken doesn't have and solve problems that don't exist. They argue constantly: about rent, responsibilities, Akira's shameful behavior - and yet, somehow, they find themselves cohabiting the same apartment every day.

A short drive away lives Joe, Ken's longtime friend. Young, accomplished, and already respected in his career, Joe serves as a constant reminder for Ken and Akira's failures in life. He appears to have everything under control... Unfortunately, he still finds himself wasting evenings in heated debates with Akira over which girl from Jam Session Magical Girls! is best, or getting dragged into situations he should be far too sensible to entertain.

Then there is Chris, a shy foreign student who recently entered their orbit and quickly discovered that being the calmest person present is less a gift and more a burden. Quiet and kind, he often unwillingly finds himself acting as a mediator for people who seem to enjoy conflict far more than resolution.

This isn't a story about fated destinies, grand tales, or high stakes. It's a story about four overgrown manchildren who stumble their way through the furrows of adult life, one social humiliation at a time.

Though they may try to pass as normal, it is clear that the 404Boys have missed some updates somewhere along the line.
